Mayapuri's New Era School’s Auditorium: A Dramatic Makeover
The auditorium at New Era Public School, Mayapuri, was in dire need of an upgrade. After 25 years, the wooden panels were termite-infested and damaged, the false ceiling was sagging, and the old ACs were barely functional. The lighting was poor, with no LEDs, and the dance floor was worn. In short, the entire space felt outdated and unpleasant. The school approached Saluja contracts for a complete transformation and we had a plan in action ready. We removed the old wooden panels and replaced them with GI sheets for better durability. To enhance the acoustics, Armstrong's fabric panels (optra panels) were installed on the walls, with wooden battens starting from the first 4 feet of the walls. Perforated gypsum panels were installed on the ceiling to absorb sound and ensure a clear listening experience. Insulation was added behind the wall panels for better temperature control.
The cooling system received a major upgrade as well. Old split ACs were replaced with a modern VRV system, featuring efficient indoor units and powerful outdoor handling units.
The stage got a luxurious modification, too, with teakwood flooring and lamination. The walls were adorned with polished veneer panels, while the ceiling used eco-friendly wood wool panels. The entire electrical system was redone to provide focused lighting throughout the space.
This complete renovation, done in just 4 months, has transformed the school's ability to host functions. The new auditorium provides a modern, functional, and aesthetically pleasing space for events of all kinds.
